Makassar – Dr. Ir. Burhanuddin Rasyid, M.Sc., a lecturer from the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University, was officially appointed as the Chair of the Indonesian Soil Science Society (HITI) for the South and West Sulawesi Regional Chapter (Komda Sulselbar) on Saturday, September 21, 2024. The inauguration took place at the Swissbell Hotel Makassar, Jalan Ujung Pandang.
The inauguration ceremony was followed by a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) under the theme “Geostrategic Agricultural Development Towards Regional and National Food Sovereignty.” The event brought together stakeholders from academia, practitioners, and government representatives to discuss strategies for strengthening food security at both regional and national levels.
Dr. Burhanuddin Rasyid is expected to lead HITI Komda Sulselbar towards significant advancements, focusing on soil science development and contributing to sustainable agricultural practices in South and West Sulawesi.
