Makassar – The Soil Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University, continues to strengthen its international collaboration by welcoming a foreign student into a Non-Degree (Internship) Program. On April 1, 2025, a Japanese student named Mai Hashimoto officially began her internship at the Soil Science Study Program. Mai is a student from Ehime University, Japan, and will undertake the internship for a full year.

The Head of the Soil Science Study Program, Dr. Ir. Asmita Ahmad, ST., M.Si., warmly welcomed Mai Hashimoto and expressed hope that the program would serve not only as a learning platform but also as a means to foster stronger ties between universities across nations. “We are proud to host international students and hope that Mai’s presence will enrich the academic and cultural atmosphere on campus,” she said.

This program also reflects the Faculty of Agriculture’s commitment to supporting the internationalization of higher education and establishing the university as a global center of learning.
